About
Join us for our annual MLK Jr. Days of Service from January 26th through February 27th, 2026! This series embodies the importance of living out the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by volunteering and supporting our community. Volunteers will serve across the Greater Knoxville area to serve, reflect on the meaning of Dr. King’s legacy, and make meaningful connections with nonprofits in our area. Please note that events on this calendar are being managed directly by the organization hosting the event. While these events have been reviewed to confirm that they meet the JCLS Service Guidelines to qualify for service hours, these events are not sponsored by the JCLS or UTK.
Important Information:
- Only some shifts provide transportation for volunteers. Please pay close attention to transportation options for your shift.
- If transportation is offered for a shift, you will need to complete the Transportation Request Form.
- Please review all event details to make sure you wear appropriate clothing. We always recommend wearing long sleeves, pants, and close-toed shoes to any service site, in addition to any suggestions for the specific event.
- In effort to practice sustainability, please bring a reusable water bottle to use at your service location.
- Cancellations: If you need to cancel for any reason, you must cancel your registration on ServeUTK at least 48 hours prior to your service day. Cancellations made after this date will not be accepted and students will be charged a $20 program fee. For more information, please visit our website.
- Service Hours: After participating in MLK Jr. Days of Service, your service hours will be automatically added to ServeUTK once you have been checked in. You will receive an email to add your reflection details to verify your hours. You should not add the impact yourself.
